Job summary

JM Test Systems welcomes entry-level ESL Technicians to join our Rubber Lab, where you will inspect, clean, test, and certify high-voltage rubber PPE and ensure compliance with ASTM standards. Training is provided in-house by experienced leaders, enabling rapid skill growth in a supportive environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with dielectric testing, documentation, and process improvement while contributing to worker safety and quality. This role is on-site in Mattoon, IL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Must be quick learner in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good communication and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to stand at a workbench and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose rubber PPE to identify damage and determine service needs.
• Clean PPE by hand or machine according to ASTM standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Test high-voltage dielectric testing and certify equipment that meets ASTM standards.
• Document test data, stamp test dates on passed equipment, and complete service documentation on time.
• Review daily assignments, set priorities, and keep work moving with limited supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab area, prepare staging areas, order supplies, and transport equipment safely.
• Grow skills through ongoing training and help train newer technicians as you gain experience.

JobSummary — The Opportunity

People who work around high voltage count on their rubber insulating protective equipment to keep them safe. As an ESL Technician in our Rubber Lab, you'll help make sure every piece of PPE we return to a customer is clean, tested, and ready to protect the person wearing it.

In this role, you will inspect, clean, and dielectrically test high-voltage rubber PPE, determine whether each item passes ASTM standards, and document and certify the results. No prior experience is required. You'll train in-house alongside our Lab Manager, Technical Manager, and Lead Technicians, learning the equipment, standards, and procedures step by step.

KeyResponsibilities & Outcomes
