Job summary

SST Champion Elementary is seeking an ESL Coordinator to lead ESL program operations on campus in Houston, TX. The role reports to the Principal and requires coordinating LPAC meetings, data review, and teacher support to meet district ESL goals.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree and a Texas ESL certificate, with experience in data management, confidentiality, and collaboration with staff and parents to advance language proficiency. This is a full-time school-hours position.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
• Texas Educator Certificate for ESL education.

Responsibilities

• Identify LEP students campus-wide, reviewing data and testing.
• Ensure ESL program meets district goals.
• Maintain LEP documentation with confidentiality per TEA/FERPA.
• Update school database reflecting LEP denials and monitor year 1/2 for FSP submissions.
• Plan, prepare and facilitate LPAC meetings.
• Coach teachers to implement TEKS/ELPS and differentiate instruction for LEP students.
• Coordinate ESL instruction and schedule.
• Compile and file required district/state reports and documents.
• Maintain safe, organized ESL classrooms and effective parent communication.
