Job summary

Grandville Public Schools seeks an ESL Title Paraprofessional to support elementary learners during the school year. The role involves reinforcing lessons, assisting with basic subjects, and helping students develop positive study habits in a collaborative setting.

The paraprofessional will work under the teacher’s direction, maintaining confidentiality and contributing to a respectful classroom environment. A two-year degree and solid communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or an Associate’s degree, plus MTTC basic skills or WorkKeys test.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals.
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to calculate mathematical figures.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to solve problems and adapt to interruptions.
• Positive attitude and willingness to help others.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces material taught by the classroom teacher with students individually or in small groups.
• Instructs students in basic subject matter according to lesson plans.
• Develops supportive, motivating and professional relationships with students.
• Encourages high standards of classroom behavior.
• Assists in preparing and administering instructional and evaluation materials.
• Maintains confidentiality of information about students.
• Participates in inservice programs and activities as assigned by the teacher or principal.
• Communicates effectively in written and verbal interactions with students.
