Job summary

Dare County Schools Central Office in Nags Head, North Carolina seeks an ESL/DLI Coordinator for an 11-month position. Reports to the Assistant Superintendent. Salary: State Salary Plus Local Supplement.

The role coordinates and oversees English as a Second Language and Dual Language Immersion programs district-wide. Requirements include a Master’s Degree in School Administration or Curriculum & Instruction, leadership experience in schools, and NC licensure in Spanish/ESL preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required or higher in education administration or a related field.
  • Experience in school administration/leadership roles.
  • North Carolina Educator’s Licensure in Spanish and ESL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee Title III/ESL and Dual Language Immersion programs district-wide.
  • Lead the ESL/DLI district-wide PLC and provide professional development and coaching for ESL/DLI staff.
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of program-related reports to document activities and ensure program requirements are met.

Job Description

ESL/DLI Program Coordinator

11 month position

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent

Salary: State Salary Plus Local Supplement

Purpose: To coordinate and oversee the English as a Second Language and Dual

Language Immersion programs district-wide.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in School Administration or Curriculum & Instruction
  • Experience in school administration/leadership
  • North Carolina Educator’s Licensure in Spanish, ESL (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and work cooperatively with internal and external personnel for the purpose of developing and maintaining Title III/ESL services and program
  • Lead the ESL/DLI district-wide PLC
  • Provide professional development and coaching for ESL/DLI staff
  • Compile data for the development and evaluation of programs
  • Comply with legal, administrative and/or financial requirement
  • Coordinate Title III/ESL operations among eligible schools for the purpose of ensuring that district objectives are achieved and resources are effectively utilized
  • Monitor Title III/ESL budget allocations, expenditures, and financial activities to ensure that fiscal practices are followed
  • Participate in Title III/ESL meetings, workshops and conferences for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
  • Supervise Title III/ESL assigned program personnel to ensure individual and program performance objectives are met
  • Prepare a variety of Title III/ESL program related reports in both manual and electronic formats to document activities, convey information and ensure program requirements are met in an effective and timely manner
  • Implement Title III/ESL programs/grants to conform to district and state instructional objectives
  • Develop, evaluate, implement and maintain Title III/ESL services in compliance with established rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • Complete and submit Title III/ESL district, state and federal reports in a timely manner
  • Meet with regional, state, and/or federal monitors
  • Prepare and distribute appropriate Title III project information to school personnel and/or community
