Job summary

Austin Community College invites applications for a Faculty, College Readiness-ESL starting January 2027. Instruction will occur in person at ACC regions—Central, North, and South campuses—and online as assigned. Faculty must meet professional standards and promote belonging for multilingual learners.

Responsibilities include preparing/teaching ESL courses across all skills, applying best practices, evaluating progress, and mentoring colleagues while supporting student success and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English, Adult Education, or closely related field.
• 1 year experience teaching varied student populations (ESL/ELL/ESOL, K-12, adult ed, higher ed) or 3 graduate hours in relevant education.
• Master’s degree in education or related field preferred; experience in ACC College Readiness programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach ESL language courses across Reading, Writing, Grammar, Listening, and Speaking using in-person, hybrid, and online delivery.
• Apply second-language acquisition best practices to create an accessible, culturally responsive learning environment.
• Evaluate student language progress and provide timely feedback aligned with program outcomes.
• Participate in curriculum, program review, and learning outcome assessments; mentor new faculty.
