Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey and Phi Helms Academy Hamilton campus seeks a full-time program coordinator to lead the High School Diploma and ESL program, oversee instruction, student support, scheduling, and progress tracking.

You will maintain student records, coordinate assessments, recruit participants, and collaborate with staff to ensure a safe, effective learning environment while upholding confidentiality and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Knowledge of local support social services.
• Ability to counsel and encourage students to overcome barriers.
• Thorough knowledge of adult education principles, supervision, curriculum development, program evaluation techniques, and computer use.
• Able to plan and implement instructional programs appropriate to adult learners, and the ability to relate to students of various ages, ethnic backgrounds, and cognitive abilities.
• Must possess professional telephone skills and manners.
• Flexible schedule to cover other areas of Goodwill when needed.
• Available to work flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and occasional long hours.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain data and progress of students in Goodwill’s case management system and ESL software, supplementing case records as needed.
• Provide academic and social assistance and support to students when needed.
• Prepare various reports and present findings.
• Meet one-to-one or in groups to review student progress toward goals.
• Offer a safe space for students to share academic concerns and design action plans.
• Monitor student progress and activities during scheduled programs and provide guidance.
