The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking a Student Support Specialist (26 - 27 SY) to implement an engaging, individualized program for students with diverse needs, including SPED and ESL. Candidates must hold NJ teaching certificates with special education endorsement, TEFL, and a Bachelor's degree; GPA requirements

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate (Standard, Provisional, CEAS, or CE, P-3 or K-6) with Special Education Endorsement is required.
• TEFL certification is required.
• Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university; GPA must meet minimum requirements for NJ DOE certification.
• Demonstrated mastery of content knowledge and ability to drive student growth.
• Evidence of NJ Department of Education certification (CE/CEAS/Provisional/Standard) or out-of-state certification.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students using CCSP curriculum aligned to New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
• Collaborate with SPED Coordinator to establish behavioral and social-emotional intervention strategies.
• Communicate with parents through conferences and other approved channels to discuss student progress.
• Maintain accurate records, evaluate student progress, and prepare progress reports and report cards.
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities with faculty, coaches, and school leadership.
