Job summary

SGL Carbon in Charlotte, NC seeks a senior EHSA leader to manage incident response, regulatory monitoring, and corporate EHSA programs across North American sites. The role includes mentoring staff, coordinating services, and aligning site practices with corporate standards.

Responsibilities include developing operating plans and budgets, analyzing risk metrics, and driving improvements in safety, environment, and process safety while engaging with regulators and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Sciences or Engineering is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong customer service and relations skills.
  • Ability to define, document, and test process improvements including implementation of tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage NA EHSA Incident Management process for employee safety, process safety and environmental safety.
  • Develop EHSA operating plans and budgets for sites; monitor regulatory trends and establish compliance programs.
  • Coach and mentor site EHSA staff; lead multi-site initiatives and projects.
  • Coordinate communications between sites on common practices; liaise with regulatory agencies on significant issues.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ESG/CSR data; support global EHSA activities and project teams.

Summary of job content

:Manage EHSA function for the North America Region, analyze key metrics and regulatory trends to identify risks an
