Job summary

O'Reilly Automotive Stores is seeking a data-driven ESG data analyst to lead collection, auditing, analysis, and reporting of sustainability metrics for GHG tracking and disclosures. The role collaborates across functions to ensure timely, accurate ESG data and supports external reporting with robust dashboards and insights.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and advanced Excel, SQL, Python or R skills, with experience in data visualization and cross-team communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to data, IT, finance, or accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills including queries, formulas, pivots, and macros.
• Experience in data management, analysis, and visualization.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Familiarity with ESG reporting concepts and data governance.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally to collect, organize, and analyze data needed for internal and external ESG reporting and disclosures
• Define and implement a process to ensure timely, accurate ESG data collection for reporting
• Update and maintain ESG data repositories
• Perform ESG data audits for precision, quality, completeness, and audit readiness using quality assurance processes
• Coordinate with third-party data assurance providers as necessary to support audit readiness
• Identify and recommend best practices to improve quality, precision, accuracy, and data granularity
• Work with consultants and third-party suppliers to execute continuous improvement
• Calculate and track GHG emissions (Scope 1, 2, 3) using GHG protocol standards
• Partner with ESG leadership to track progress toward GHG reduction targets
• Support Energy Management Committee groups to identify and measure energy reduction initiatives
• Model energy savings and financial impact of initiatives
• Draft and submit internal and external ESG reporting including the CDP response
• Provide project support for ESG team including market research and benchmarking
• Create insights and recommendations to influence decisions
• Advise on ESG reporting methodologies and disclosure frameworks
• Track evolving guidance and requirements
• Build data visualizations, models, and dashboards to communicate sustainability performance
• Complete all other duties as assigned
