Job summary

Henry County Schools in Georgia is seeking an Exceptional Student Education Teacher to plan, deliver, and monitor instruction for students with disabilities under IEPs and ILPs. You will collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related services staff, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate.
• Ability to maintain highly confidential information professionally.
• Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and review the IEP/ILP of each student on the caseload.
• Work with parents/guardians in all aspects of their child's educational program.
• Compile, maintain, and submit accurate paperwork within designated timelines.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and Related Services Staff to maximize student achievement.
• Maintain lesson plans according to policies and directives.
• Deliver specialized instruction per IEPs/ILPs and use data-driven practices.
• Develop data-driven behavior management strategies including FBAs and BIPs.
• Utilize formative and summative assessments and report progress to parents/guardians.
• Adhere to district policies, procedures and federal/state regulations.
• Serve as a resource to general education teachers who teach students with disabilities.
• Maintain prompt and professional communication with parents.
• Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
