Job summary

Henry County Schools in Stockbridge, GA seeks an Exceptional Student Education Teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons, develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and ILPs for students on the caseload, and work closely with parents and guardians.

You will collaborate with general education teachers and related services staff, apply data-driven behavior plans, assess progress, and ensure compliance with district policies and federal regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet the district's qualifications.
• Maintain highly confidential information professionally.
• Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
• Must perform tasks involving standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Meet the unique needs of students with severe disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials for active learning.
• Develop and implement IEPs and ILPs for students on the caseload.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related services staff to provide services.
• Maintain lesson plans per policies and directives.
• Provide data-driven behavior management strategies including FBAs and BIPs.
• Use formative and summative assessments and report progress to guardians.
• Ensure due process safeguards are afforded to students and parents/guardians.
• Communicate promptly with parents.
