Job summary

Sarasota County Schools in Sarasota, FL seeks an ESE Aide at Gulf Coast Academy at Brookside to support academic and behavioral instruction under certified staff. You will assist with personal care, data collection, and creating a safe learning environment for students with special needs.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, 40 hours ASD training by probation end, CPI training during probation, and a ParaPro test or AA/AS degree or 60-hour equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At hire, may need 40 hours of ASD/ autism training to obtain ASD certification by end of probation.
• Must complete verbal and CPI training within probation.
• Passing score on ParaPro or AA/AS degree or 60-hour equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision of students and school-wide tasks as assigned.
• Implement routine academic and behavioral interventions under certified staff.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks as needed.
• Perform clerical duties: copying, filing, data collection and records.
• Create and maintain a safe learning environment and communicate with staff/parents.
• Support development of instructional materials and assess student progress.
• Follow policies, maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
