Job summary

Waymo is seeking an Operations Leader based in the Phoenix/Tempe area to act as the primary escalation point for high-priority safety and operational issues. You will coordinate with Engineering and Safety, guiding rapid response actions and ensuring continuity of the Waymo Driver platform.

You will lead post-incident reviews, translate learnings into updated policies and playbooks, and drive improvements across markets.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-stakes operational environments such as network operations, emergency response, or critical infrastructure.
• Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to brief executives clearly.
• Proven ability to provide authoritative direction to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operations leader and escalation point for high-priority safety and operational issues.
• Partner with local leadership, Engineering, and Safety to direct immediate response actions and ensure business continuity.
• Lead post-incident reviews, capture root causes, and translate findings into updated policies and playbooks.
• Standardize escalation frameworks and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate product releases with vendor teams and oversee change management and performance tracking.
