Job summary

College of Western Idaho is seeking an Enterprise Applications Engineer to own and operate the Ellucian Colleague ERP platform and related enterprise apps on Windows Server/Azure. You will manage environments, upgrades, patches, and integrations while ensuring security, availability, and performance across multi‑tier systems.

The role covers identity integration, Active Directory, and Entra ID collaboration with security and IT teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or related discipline.
Experience administering or supporting a complex enterprise application, ERP platform, financial system, administrative system, or multi‑tier business application.
Experience supporting Windows Server‑based application environments.
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server or another relational database platform.
Experience troubleshooting issues across application, server, database, identity, integration, and network layers.
Experience with application upgrades, patching, testing, change management, and production support.
Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary technical administrator for Ellucian Colleague and its supporting application environment.
Install, configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade enterprise application components.
Coordinate application upgrades, maintenance activities, regression testing, and production validation.
Manage application services and hosting components, including IIS, Tomcat, Windows services, and scheduled processes.
Monitor application availability, capacity, performance, and system health.
Troubleshoot complex issues across application, OS, database, integration, authentication, and network layers.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement durable solutions to reduce incidents.
Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and recovery procedures.
Coordinate technical work with Ellucian and other vendors throughout the lifecycle.
Administer Azure VMs, storage, networking, and related services hosting the apps.
Monitor Azure-hosted systems with appropriate tools.
Support resilience, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
