Job description

Under the general supervision of the Chief Information Officer and Deputy Director of Information Technology, the ERP Specialist provides hands‑on support for the implementation, operation, and ongoing maintenance of the County’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The ERP Specialist works collaboratively with the ERP Coordinator, IT staff, finance personnel, and other County departments to support system configuration, data accuracy, testing, documentation, and end‑user adoption.

This position is primarily execution‑focused rather than project management‑oriented. Responsibilities include day‑to‑day implementation and system support activities such as data entry and validation, assisting with system configuration, supporting user testing, and helping departments transition from legacy processes to the ERP system. This role requires a strong understanding of processes, practical technical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively with both technical staff and non‑technical users.

Office‑based role with occasional travel for conferences, training, or vendor meetings. After‑hours support may be required during key implementation milestones or system go‑live periods. Performs related duties as required. Associate’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience). 1–3 years of experience in SaaS product, or business systems support.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass required background checks.

Ongoing ERP System Support:
  • Provide day‑to‑day support for the County’s ERP system, including troubleshooting user issues, data corrections, access requests, and system configuration.
  • Work with departments, IT staff, and Workday support to resolve issues and support ongoing operational needs.
ERP Implementation & Expansion:
  • Support the implementation of new ERP modules and functionality, including Human Resources, Payroll, and future Workday initiatives.
  • Assist with configuration, data conversion, integrations, testing, and departmental transition activities.
Testing & System Maintenance:
  • Test system updates, configuration changes, integrations, and new functionality.
  • Document results, identify issues, validate system data, and assist with Workday releases and enhancements.
Training & Documentation:
  • Provide user training and hands‑on assistance for existing and newly implemented ERP functionality.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, job aids, FAQs, and ERP resources for County employees.
Preferred (Not Required):
  • Experience with ERP or financial systems such as Workday.
  • Experience supporting finance, payroll, budget, or procurement functions.
  • Basic understanding of databases, system interfaces, or data imports/exports.
SKILLSET & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working knowledge of accounting and financial processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with financial and transactional data.
  • Basic technical aptitude and ability to learn enterprise software systems.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and document work clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with non‑technical staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, balance daily support with implementation activities, and meet established deadlines.
