Job description

CoAspire (https://www.coaspire.com) is a cutting-edge defense manufacturing leader in Northern Virginia, specializing in the precision assembly of advanced weapons systems. With over twelve years of a legacy of innovation, we're at the forefront of building reliable, affordable mass weapons that protect and empower our nation’s warfighters. Our tight-knit team thrives in a collaborative environment where safety, quality, and work-life balance come first with a focus on professional growth. Join us to make a tangible impact on mission-critical technology while enjoying Northern Virginia's vibrant community.

Position: You will own the demand planning process within our ERP system, ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable demand signals that drive material requirements planning (MRP), production scheduling, procurement, and inventory decisions in support of advanced weapons systems manufacturing. Working closely with supply chain, operations, program management, sales, and finance teams, you will maintain forecast integrity, optimize planning parameters, and support the S&OP process to enable reliable material availability and schedule adherence in a regulated defense environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and refine short-, mid-, and long-term demand forecasts using historical data, program inputs, statistical methods, and cross-functional consensus; load and manage forecasts directly in the ERP system.
  • Own and maintain critical ERP master data and planning parameters (safety stock, lot sizes, lead times, MRP types, reorder points, forecast consumption, etc.) to ensure clean MRP runs and reliable planning outputs.
  • Run, analyze, and action MRP exception messages, demand signals, and planning recommendations; resolve issues that impact material availability or production schedules.
  • Lead or actively participate in the demand review portion of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP / SIOP) process, aligning stakeholders on a consensus demand plan.
  • Monitor and report key metrics including forecast accuracy, bias, inventory health, and demand variability; drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement actions.
  • Support new product introductions, engineering changes, phase-outs, and program demand fluctuations by updating forecasts and planning parameters in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify demand risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies that protect production schedules and cost targets.
  • Ensure data integrity and process discipline within the ERP so that downstream functions (procurement, production, inventory) operate from accurate demand signals.
  • Prepare clear reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership reviews and program status meetings.
  • Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and best-practice adoption that strengthen overall planning effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, or materials planning within a manufacturing environment, with direct hands-on experience in an ERP system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Infor, or similar) including forecast entry, master data maintenance, and MRP interpretation.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel and preferably statistical forecasting or planning tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions, manage competing priorities, and communicate planning insights clearly.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment with a focus on data accuracy and process discipline.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with S&OP / SIOP / IBP processes and demand consensus methodologies.
  • Knowledge of inventory optimization, safety stock modeling, or advanced planning techniques.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience supporting multi-program or government-contract demand planning.

What We Offer:

Beyond competitive pay, we offer:

  • Full benefits from first of month following hire: medical, dental and vision
  • 401(k) with generous company match and immediate vesting
  • PTO and Federal holidays
