ERP Analytic Report Specialist
SALARY BUFFALO
5 days ago Requisition ID: 1157
Salary: $63,000.00 Annually
Position Summary
We are seeking an analytical and self-directed ERP Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This role supports and enhances our ERP system (Infor CloudSuite) and related business applications, and takes the lead on two strategic initiatives: re-evaluating the company’s ERP pricing matrix using historical sales data and AI-assisted analysis to improve margin, and building a company intranet that delivers reporting and dashboards to every department. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between business operations and technology, is comfortable working directly with transactional data, and can turn analysis into recommendations and working tools that the business will actually use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the re-evaluation of the company’s ERP pricing matrix to improve gross margin, including:
- Extracting and analyzing multi-year transactional history from Infor CloudSuite — sales orders, invoices, cost, customer, and product data — to identify margin leakage, pricing outliers, and unpriced or mispriced items.
- Using AI tools and analytical methods to segment customers and products, model pricing scenarios, and quantify the projected margin impact of proposed changes.
- Presenting pricing matrix recommendations to IT leadership, Sales management, and executive management in clear, decision-ready terms.
- Implementing, testing, and maintaining approved pricing matrix changes within the ERP.
- Establishing recurring measurement so pricing performance is monitored after implementation and the matrix is reviewed on an ongoing schedule.
- Develop and maintain a company intranet to deliver operational reporting and dashboards to all departments, including:
- Building department-specific dashboards and reports for Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, Accounting, Service, and Rental.
- Writing and optimizing SQL queries and data sources that feed reports, dashboards, and business analytics tools.
- Gathering reporting requirements from department managers and translating them into practical, maintainable reporting.
- Using AI tools to accelerate report and dashboard development, automate recurring analysis, and surface exceptions that need attention.
- Maintaining access controls so that sensitive sales, cost, margin, and personnel data is visible only to authorized users.
- Administer and support the company’s ERP system (Infor CloudSuite), including:
- Providing day-to-day operational support for departments such as Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, Accounting, Service, and Rental.
- Managing and optimizing system transaction flows (e.g., Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Warehouse Transfers).
- Identifying and implementing system improvements in collaboration with IT leadership and department managers.
- Training new and existing users across all departments.
- Develop a masterful understanding of how our external systems integrate to our ERP to support the business.
- Troubleshoot ERP-related issues and provide first-level support for integrated systems (Shipping, Document Management, Reporting, CRM, Website, eCommerce, etc.).
- Analyze, design, and maintain business information systems to support operational needs.
- Assist in the development, implementation and rollout of new systems and technologies.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Evaluate training needs and develop or enhance training programs accordingly.
- Use AI tools to work quickly and efficiently.
- Work closely with other members of the IT team and department managers to meet the needs of the business.
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive data, including sales, cost, margin, and personnel information.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies in the execution of job duties.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience with ERP systems, preferably Infor CloudSuite.
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to extract, join, and validate data from transactional systems without supervision.
- Experience building reports and dashboards using business analytics and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools productively for analysis, development, and documentation.
- Practical understanding of pricing, cost, and margin concepts in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of business processes and system workflows.
- Ability to translate data analysis into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences, including executive management.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to train users and document technical processes clearly.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential data, and a proactive attitude toward system improvements.
Level of Education and Experience
- Experience on Infor CloudSuite or another ERP system is strongly desired.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in business, information systems, data analytics, computer science, or a similar field is desired.
- Three or more years in an analyst, reporting, or business systems role is desired.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with SQL and with a reporting or business intelligence tool is required.
- Experience developing or maintaining web-based internal applications or dashboards is desired.
- Experience in a project management role is desired.
- Working experience in a manufacturing or distribution industry is preferred.
