The University of New Hampshire invites applications for a Laboratory Technician in the Ernakovich and SoilBioME Lab group in Durham. This 10 hours/week position supports microbial community analysis and soil biogeochemical measurements under supervision of lab staff.
Responsibilities include DNA extraction, PCR-related tasks, enzyme assays, and routine lab maintenance, inventory management, and proper waste disposal. Training will be provided to perform protocols according to lab standards.
Laboratory Technician position for the Ernakovich and SoilBioME Lab group for 10hrs/week. Technician will analyze microbial communities and biogeochemical properties of permafrost soil samples under supervision of lab manager(s) and research staff. Technician will also assist with lab maintenance tasks such as chemical inventory management, dishwashing, and hazardous waste disposal. Training will be provided for lab specific protocols for DNA Extraction, PCR amplification, enzyme assays, foreign soil protocols and biogeochemical soil characterization.
Compensation Pay Range: $13.00/hour
