Job summary

Seaboard Foods seeks an ERM Team Member to support lagoon monitoring and daily operations. You will assist the Environmental Supervisor with lagoon level checks, equipment maintenance, and pumping tasks while following site procedures.

The role involves practical field work, basic sampling, and operating irrigation motors. A High School diploma or GED is preferred, with English/Spanish bilingual ability a plus and a valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; basic writing is preferred.
• Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred but not necessary; a valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist coordinators in pumping procedures including paperwork and scheduling.
• Oversee routine maintenance on company equipment.
• Apply extensive knowledge on sprinkler system and troubleshooting on irrigation motors.
• Setup pumping equipment including moving pipe, risers, reels and motors.
• Perform soil, water and lagoon effluent sampling at company sites.

JOB PURPOSE

The ERM Team Member will assist the Environmental Supervisor in the daily monitoring of lagoons and lagoon levels. Assists in the maintenance of equipment associated with the lagoons such as sprinklers, pumps and motors.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

• Assist coordinators in pumping procedures including paperwork and scheduling.
• Oversee routine maintenance on company equipment
• Apply extensive knowledge on sprinkler system and troubleshooting on irrigation motors.
• Ability to trouble shoot and knowledge on small motors
• Setup pumping equipment including but not limited to moving pipe, setting up risers, setting up reel rains and motors.
• Preform soil,waterand lagoon effluent samplingat company sites
• Operate machinery for solids separation process.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.
