Job summary

First Merchants Corporation invites college students to join its 12-week paid Summer Internship Program in Indianapolis. You will work across departments including Credit Administration, Commercial Banking, Technology, and Marketing, gaining hands-on project experience and mentorship.

Successful interns demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, teamwork, and self-motivation. The program includes community service, executive exposure, and a final presentation to leadership.

Qualifications

• Be a full-time Bachelor degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week from May 17 to August 6, 2027.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Be able and willing to travel periodically within the First Merchants footprint, if applicable.
• Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, teamwork, and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Support CSR program campaigns, financial wellness initiatives, and community partnerships.
• Assist with planning and logistics for events and regional service activities.
• Help manage internal communications, social media content, and impact storytelling.
• Compile, clean, and validate data for CRA performance tracking and reporting.
• Support outreach and reporting for affordable housing initiatives and homeownership programs.
• Provide administrative support to Community Business Bankers and engagement with nonprofit partners.
