Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Attorney in Buffalo, NY to advise on ERISA, pension, retirement plans, health benefits, and executive compensation. The role supports a growing benefits practice with a collaborative team and flexible_PART_time_or_full_time_hiring_approach.

Salary ranges from $120,000 to $200,000 per year, with books of business not required but considered. The firm offers a generous PTO, professional development, and relocation stipends where applicable.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in employee benefits law.
• Extensive knowledge of pension, retirement plans, health benefits, welfare benefits, and executive compensation.
• Proficiency in drafting plan documents and summary plan descriptions.
• Compliance with federal and state employee benefits regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on all aspects of employee benefits law, including health and welfare plans, retirement plans, executive compensation, and other employee benefit matters.
• Draft, review, and revise plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and other related documents.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
• Represent clients in regulatory matters and interactions with the IRS and Department of Labor.
• Provide legal support for corporate transactions, including due diligence, integration, and compliance reviews.
• Stay updated on current trends, practices, and legislation in employee benefits law.
• Collaborate with other legal team members and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to client service.
