We are seeking a skilled ERISA Attorney to join our legal team and provide counsel on matters related to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). In this role, you will focus on cost containment strategies and reference-based pricing while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities- ERISA Compliance: Advise on all aspects of ERISA, including plan documentation, disclosures, fiduciary duties, and prohibited transactions.
- Cost Containment Strategies: Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement policies aimed at reducing healthcare costs, focusing on reference-based pricing models and related initiatives.
- Regulatory Guidance: Keep abreast of evolving regulations and industry best practices; communicate relevant changes to internal stakeholders and ensure timely compliance.
- Contract Review & Negotiations: Draft, review, and negotiate service agreements, contracts with vendors, and other legal documents to protect the interests of the organization and its plan participants.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal or compliance risks associated with benefits design, reference-based pricing, or other cost containment measures, proposing solutions or mitigation strategies.
- Training & Documentation: Provide training and counsel to internal departments on ERISA-related issues, including plan administration and fiduciary responsibilities.
Qualifications- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
- 3+ years of experience in ERISA law, employee benefits, or a closely related field.
- Proven track record advising on cost containment, reference-based pricing, or similar healthcare strategies.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing health plans, including HIPAA, ACA, and COBRA.
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, HR, legal, and operations teams.
