SmartestEnergy in Houston seeks a Trader (ERCOT) to manage hedging and risk for our retail and wholesale activities, delivering price competitiveness and excellent customer service in a fast-paced market.

You will create, manage and execute ERCOT trading strategies to support profitability while strictly operating within risk limits (VaR/stops) and working with Wholesale Analytics to provide market insights and pricing.

Competenze

• 3–5 years in U.S. energy or commodity markets as a Trader in ERCOT.
• Thorough knowledge of ERCOT power market fundamentals.
• Fluent in Technical Analysis.
• Deep understanding of commodity market participants and their needs.
• Ability to work with Originators and Retail Sales teams.
• Highly numerate and quick thinking.
• Good judgment under high pressure and high value situations.
• Robust integrity of conduct.

Mansioni

• Hedge the Retail Customer Hedge Book within the tolerances of the risk framework.
• Operate within risk limits, credit and collateral policies, and trading control procedures.
• Achieve annual Trading P&L targets – customer hedging profitability and proprietary trading P&L.
• Specify and contribute to the development of Trading Analytics tools and reports.
• Develop ERCOT bid/mid/offer wholesale marks.
• Issuance of Retail commodity offer curve and ad-hoc Power plant offtake prices.
• Develop and maintain key relationships with market participants to support trading activities.
