Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' New England Veterinary Center & Cancer Center in Windsor, CT is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician for 1st shift. You will support hospital operations by delivering quality patient care, participate in diagnostics, anesthesia, and nursing duties, and maintain medical records.

This role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate client communication, and a calm presence in high‑stress situations.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of veterinary technician experience (ER preferred but not required)
• Strong phlebotomy, catheter placement, and nursing skills
• Comfort with fast-paced, emotionally charged situations
• Knowledgeable, supportive team player with good communication

Responsibilities

• Triage and stabilize patients
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, run in-house diagnostics
• Monitor critical patients and assist with emergency procedures
• Administer medications, CRIs, and blood products
• Properly calculate medical math and administer medications
• Provide clear, compassionate updates to clients
• Help maintain a clean, safe ICU environment
• Show empathy to address client concerns
