Job summary
Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists and Urgent Care is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our emergency and urgent care team in Kentucky. You will restrain, triage, collect samples, perform imaging, and support nursing and anesthesia care for patients with varying needs.
We seek a candidate with at least 1 year in ER/urgent care, excellent client communication, and a team-first attitude. Competitive benefits, ongoing training, and opportunities for growth are provided.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of professional ER/urgent care experience required.
- Registered or licensed technician preferred but not required.
- High work ethic and positive attitude; team member.
- Ability to arrive on time and be ready to work.
- Weekend availability.
- Exceptional customer service and precise communication.
- Ability to interpret medical records and history.
- Knowledge of preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow.
- Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress, safe manner.
- Proficient in collecting samples (blood, urine, fecal, skin).
- Proficient in setting up and processing lab samples/tests.
- Proficient in radiographs positioning; dental radiographs a plus.
- Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
- Self-starter and eager to advance skills.
- Able to receive feedback constructively to improve hospital efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Restrain animals and triage incoming patients.
- Collect and analyze lab samples.
- Perform diagnostic imaging and radiographs.
- Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
- Administer medications and communicate treatment plans with clients.
- Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
