Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in California is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will participate in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, providing compassionate support to pets and their people during stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state where VEG practice is located; VTS a plus
• 1+ year experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty experience preferred
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg with or without assistance

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across triage to discharge
• Deliver treatments and emotional support in critical moments
• Administer meds and monitor patients; IVs and CRIs
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection and tubes
• Communicate with team and help shape care plans
• Support anesthesia management for patients
• Utilize advanced techniques such as central lines and ultrasounds
