Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in Worthington, OH seeks an Emergency Registered Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced ER team. You will work with clinicians to triage, treat, and monitor urgent cases while communicating clearly with clients and staff.

You will perform anesthesia, nursing care, and in-house labs, collaborating with the care team to ensure excellent patient outcomes and compassionate client education.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active State Registered Veterinary Technician license.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience preferred.
• Strong math skills for drug calculations, CRIs, and unit conversions.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced ER and manage multiple cases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with the patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Provide client education on home care and medications.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples.
