MedVet is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Doctor Coordinator to support doctors during shifts, coordinate scheduling, and manage client communications in a fast-paced ER environment.

This role requires prior veterinary experience, strong calculations, flexibility with hours, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. MedVet offers strong benefits and growth opportunities in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, dosing, conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work extra hours.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a given shift; may support different doctors within a department.
• Ensures follow through of departmental workflow for the supported doctor(s).
• Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics.
• Delegates team responsibilities as appropriate to team members.
• Acts as point of contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries if doctor is unavailable.
• Provides departmental client communication for cases (care plan discussions, Q&A).
• Drafts medical record documentation for supported doctor(s).
• Monitors emails and voicemails for doctor(s).
• Assists with and ensures completion of outpatient procedures as required.
• May escort outpatient clients to exam rooms and prepare/maintain exam rooms.
• May act as a mentor or trainer for team members.
• May coordinate and delegate prescription refills to team members.
