Job summary

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialists & Emergency (PSVSE) in Tacoma, WA, delivers emergency and specialty veterinary care with compassion and accountability. We are seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality care.

You will assist with patient handling, treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring, maintain clean treatment areas, and provide comfort to patients and clients during stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as Veterinary Assistant.
• Experience in emergency or specialty setting preferred.
• Remain calm, compassionate in emergencies.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency procedures and treatments.
• Safely restrain and handle patients with compassion and confidence.
• Assist with diagnostics, treatments, and patient monitoring as directed.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient care areas.
• Provide comfort and support to patients throughout their hospital stay.
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with team members in a high-acuity setting.
