Job summary

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialists & Emergency (PSVSE) is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering high-quality emergency care. The role involves patient handling, treatments, diagnostics, and maintaining a safe, organized clinical environment while providing compassionate support to patients and clients during stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Prior experience in an emergency or specialty setting preferred.
• Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and compassionate in emergency situations.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency procedures and treatments
• Safely restrain and handle patients with compassion and confidence
• Assist with diagnostics, treatments, and patient monitoring as directed
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient care areas
• Provide comfort and support to patients throughout their hospital stay
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with team members in a high-acuity setting
• Uphold PSVSE standards for safety, cleanliness, and patient care
