Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Avondale, AZ, is seeking an experienced Patient Care Coordinator to join our state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital. You will act as liaison between front and back of the hospital, facilitating client/patient flow, triaging medical calls, coordinating communication, and handling follow-up calls and some discharges.

The role requires 2 years of veterinary technician experience or a licensed technician. Shifts are Sunday through Wednesday (9 hours).

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of veterinary technician experience or be a LVT.
• Shift: Sunday - Wednesday (9 hour shifts).

Responsibilities

• Assist across services during primary duty downtime as directed by supervisor/manager.
• Aids in the development of others.
• Remains current on RECOVER CPR guidelines (Basic Life Support).
• Check ER doctor message bin and triage messages for doctors; facilitate solutions for clients.
• Supports clinician and client throughout the patient care process.
• Approaches and handles patients according to safety protocols and core values.
• Aids in setting and driving a culture of patient safety and using the Patient Safety Event Reporting accordingly.
• Appropriately restrain feline and canine patients in accordance with AVMA policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate proper use of hospital PPE; adhere to safety standards.
• Ability to use radiology software and assist with radiography using proper technique and PPE.
