Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Registered Nurse for our freestanding emergency and urgent care services. The RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process and collaborates with the health care team.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting care, administering medications, and supporting discharge planning. The role requires rapid response to emergencies and adherence to evidence-based standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
• 1 year of emergency department or 18 months of ICU experience preferred.
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.
• ACLS & PALS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation using the nursing process.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient care in collaboration with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Perform and document patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and implement evidence-based protocols and standards of care.
• Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and facilitate patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and assist with diagnostic, therapeutic, and procedural interventions.
• Delegate and supervise patient care activities in accordance with staff competencies and scope of practice.
• Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and professional role model for team members, new hires, and students.
• Maintain required competencies, certifications, licensure, and continuing education while adhering to organizational policies and safety standards.
