Job summary

Clean Harbors in Norwell, MA (or Jacksonville, FL) seeks an ERTS Operations Manager to provide full management and supervision for project performance and completion. You will lead a team, ensure safety compliance, review SDS, coordinate spill response, and manage workloads across shifts including nights.

A Bachelor’s degree is required with 4+ years of management in transportation, logistics, or waste industries. 12-hour shifts apply.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Minimum 4 years of previous management or supervisory experience in the transportation, logistics or waste industry.
• Direct hazardous material response experience is required.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and RCRA, OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Strong time management, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Must be a team player and work to accomplish common goals in the department.
• Operations Managers work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and daily operations, providing positive leadership and accountability for performance.
• Monitor and track employee attendance and performance; complete disciplinary actions when required.
• Enforce all safety policies and procedures and ensure SOPs are followed.
• Identify and develop key talent and manage underperformers for department success.
• Coordinate spill response efforts and ensure regulatory compliance with clients.
• Oversee project managers and field contractors to meet contract, schedule, and cost goals.
• Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and staff; maintain accurate SDS reviews and incident reporting.
