Job summary

CONSUMER DIRECTED SERVICES INC. in Edgewater, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in a Level I trauma setting.

You will lead interdisciplinary care, assess patients, and develop discharge plans while maintaining high standards of patient safety and education. The role requires an NY RN license, at least 2 years of ED experience, and proficiency with data systems and clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BSN preferred.
• Current NY RN license and registration.
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Emergency Department.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications upon hire.
• Training in infection control and barrier precautions.

Responsibilities

• Leading interdisciplinary care planning and ensuring documentation of patient care and education.
• Assessing patient health status and responses, completing admission assessments, and developing discharge plans.
• Applying critical thinking to problem-solving, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting care plans accordingly.
• Delivering safe, evidence-based clinical interventions, administering medications, and responding to urgent situations.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, respecting cultural diversity and patient rights.
• Mentoring colleagues, participating in performance improvement initiatives, maintaining competencies, and adhering to policies and standards.
• Demonstrating professionalism and integrating core values such as respect, effective communication, sensitivity, and courtesy into daily practice.
