Job summary

CONSUMER DIRECTED SERVICES INC. is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Department with a focus on Level I trauma care.

The role emphasizes leadership, rapid assessment, and high-acuity patient management. You will lead interdisciplinary care, ensure timely assessments and discharge planning, and participate in performance improvement while delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Valid NY RN license and current registration.
• Minimum of 2 years ED nursing experience.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and infection control required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate patient care through interdisciplinary planning and delegation.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission.
• Ensure documentation, patient teaching, and discharge planning are completed effectively.
• Provide direct, patient-centered care utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Maintain a safe environment, administer medications, and respond to urgent situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, respecting cultural diversity.
• Participate in performance improvement, professional development, and mentorship activities.
• Uphold standards of nursing practice, ethics, and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, and accountability in daily practice.
