Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes activities of daily living.
• Reports unusual observations to the assigned nurse or charge nurse.
• Collects specimens for analysis and records intake/output.
• Provides patient personal care and assistance with daily living activities.
• Performs clinical procedures under supervision of a nurse.
• Assists with patient nutrition and meal setup.
• Supports safety culture and safety interventions.
• Adheres to infection control policies and cleans equipment.
• Assists with orientation of new staff.
• Transports patients as delegated, with safety and body mechanics in mind.
• Performs point of care testing and communicates results to staff.
• Performs phlebotomy under delegation.
• Sets up patient rooms and assists with turnover and basic wound care.
• Maintains mandatory education and unit competencies.
• Participates in trauma and acute stroke response teams.
