Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) to join our Night shift team. Under RN supervision, you will provide hands-on support to keep patients safe and comfortable, assist with mobility, vital signs, and daily care while maintaining dignity and privacy.

Required qualifications include a High school diploma or GED, at least one year of patient care experience, and SC CNA or EMT certification plus AHA BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of patient care experience in a healthcare facility or experience as a CNA is required.
• Current SC CNA registration or SC EMT certification is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients within the scope of training and certification.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking, and activities of daily living.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment.
• Change bed linens and assist with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
• Serve meals and provide between-meal nourishment as needed.
• Obtain and record temperatures and vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
• Support nurses and the emergency care team with a variety of patient care activities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and safety.
