Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking an Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) to join our Night shift team. Under RN supervision, you will provide hands-on support to keep patients safe and comfortable, assist with mobility, vital signs, and daily care while maintaining dignity and privacy.

Required qualifications include a High school diploma or GED, at least one year of patient care experience, and SC CNA or EMT certification plus AHA BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least one year of patient care experience in a healthcare facility or experience as a CNA is required.
• Current SC CNA registration or SC EMT certification is required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients within the scope of training and certification.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking, and activities of daily living.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment.
• Change bed linens and assist with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
• Serve meals and provide between-meal nourishment as needed.
• Obtain and record temperatures and vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
• Support nurses and the emergency care team with a variety of patient care activities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and safety.

As an Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech), you’ll play an essential role on the front line of patient care. Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you’ll provide hands‑on support that helps keep patients safe, comfortable, and moving through their care journey. From assisting with patient care and mobility to supporting nurses with vital signs, transportation, and daily needs, you’ll be an important part of a team that shows up when patients need us most.

• Provide compassionate, hands‑on care to patients within the scope of your training and certification.

• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment.
