Job summary

UTMB Health seeks an ER Technician II for the ED Clear Lake to provide intermediate technical assistance and patient care in the Emergency Department. You will assist with vital signs, specimen collection, and basic clinical tasks under nurse supervision.

Requirements include completion of an EMT program, nursing program first semester with clinicals, or active state EMS certification, plus BLS from AHA. This is a full‑time on‑site position with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT program or nursing program first semester with clinicals.
• Active state EMS certification in good standing.
• BLS from American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, and collect specimens.
• Perform and report Point of Care Testing.
• Assist with patient activities and care under supervision.
• Provide for patient hygiene and basic needs including feeding and mobility.
• Assist with admission, transfer, discharge; chaperone exams.
• Maintain patient privacy and safety; uphold infection control.
