Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking an ER Technician II for the ED Clear Lake, a part-time role with 24 hours per week from 7a-7p. The position requires completion of an EMT program or enrollment in nursing school and an active EMS certification, with relevant military medic training as an alternative.

BLS from AHA is required. You will assist with patient care, vital signs, specimens, and prepare patients for procedures.

Qualifications

• Completion of EMT program or enrollment in nursing school with first semester completed
• Active state EMS certification in good standing at hire date
• Military training as US Army medic/US Navy corpsman/US Air Force medic/Coast Guard corpsman

Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate technical assistance and supportive patient care
• Take vital signs, collect specimens and document data
• Assist with patient activities, hygiene, feeding and mobility as needed
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges and with examinations/procedures
• Maintain patient safety, privacy and a clean environment and follow infection control measures
