Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Maintain AHA Basic Life Support Certification.
• Maintain certifications/licensures, as applicable.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform a variety of patient assistance without direct supervision.
• Ability to interact effectively with patient, clinical staff, and the general public.
• Ability to adjust work schedules and activities based on needs of department.

Responsibilities

• Assists and augments the registered nursing staff in the Emergency Room.
• Demonstrates and applies paramedic skills in accordance with Illinois State law.
• Performs duties with a sense of urgency and teamwork to ensure patient care quality.
