Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is hiring an Emergency Room Technician to join its Adult Emergency Room department. This 100% onsite opportunity requires providing high-quality patient care by assisting registered nurses in various tasks. Essential duties include transporting patients, performing point-of-care testing, and maintaining cleanliness in the emergency department.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, certification as a C.N.A., M.A., EMT, or relevant phlebotomy experience. Current Basic Life Support certification is required.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist and augment registered nursing staff in patient care.
• Transport patients throughout the hospital as needed.
• Maintain clean work environments and prepare ED rooms for new patients.
• Perform POC testing and EKG monitoring.
