Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking an ER Tech to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room and assist medical providers and licensed nurses. This full-time Day Shift position supports personal care, nutrition, safety, and patient procedures while coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers.

The role requires BLS certification, an EMT-B/MA/CNA background with acute care experience, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• EMT-B, Medical Assistant or CNA with acute care experience preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform simple math calculations required.
• Ability pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients.
• Provides for nutrition and elimination needs of patients.
• Performs specific procedures according to patient plan of care.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer for patients on and off unit.
• Communicates effectively with patients, family member and hospital personnel.
• Maintains safe unit environment, supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care.
