Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI seeks an Emergency Department Technician to support patient care in a fast-paced ED environment. Under RN or provider supervision, you’ll assist with vital signs, EKG monitoring, and basic care, helping prepare treatment areas and restocking supplies.

You’ll collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and ER staff to ensure safe, efficient care, while maintaining safety and infection control standards throughout your shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BCLS certification required.
• B-EMT certification or MA program completion preferred.
• Nursing or medical education program acceptable; OR 1 year ER tech experience with related certs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, EKG monitoring, and other tasks under supervision.
• Assist patients with positioning, comfort, and basic care needs.
• Prepare treatment areas, restock supplies, ensure equipment is ready for use.
• Communicate with patients and families, provide reassurance during ER visits.
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and ER staff to deliver care.
• Maintain safety protocols and infection control; keep the environment clean.
• Assist with patient transport and documentation support.
• Work in a dynamic ED environment under supervision.
