Job summary

Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist with patient care under direct supervision in the fast-paced ED. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and offers opportunities for credentialing and orientation during the first six months.

Preferred candidates include those with ED tech experience or nursing assistant background and BCLS certification; EMT license is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous Emergency Department Technician, MA or Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
• BCLS certification required.
• Certifications/Licensures: B-EMT, Graduate from a formal Medical Assistant program, Completion of a formal nursing education program (Associates program and/or above), Completion of a formal medical doctor education program, OR One year of applicable Emergency Room Technical experience in lieu of above.
• Must complete applicable certification/program within 12 months of hire.
• Successful completion of a 180-day orientation period required.
• EMT license preferred.

• Assist with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
