Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator to provide clinical patient care support under the direction of an RN in the University Hospital ED. This role includes phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, vital signs, wound care, and patient movement and transport, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED and completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT training program; Nights 7P–7A in

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with clinical patient care tasks in the ED.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG lead placement.
• Documents intake/outcome, vital signs and patient data in systems.
• Transports patients and specimens; handles equipment and room setup.
• Maintains infection control and safety procedures; supports admit/discharge processes.
