Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• BCLS certification required.
• Previous Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs and Providers with assessments, examinations and treatments.
• Assist in procedures such as suturing, casts, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures.
• Take vital signs and draw blood, collect specimens.
• Recognize life‑threatening dysrhythmias and report abnormal vitals.
• Document patient care performed and maintain records.
• Interact with patients and families to ensure quality care.
• Transport patients and supplies and restock equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and prepare rooms between patients.
• Ensure department safety and standard precautions.

Skills

Emergency Department experience

Medical Assistant experience

EMT license preferred

Education

High School diploma or GED

BCLS certification
