Henry Ford Health System in Sterling Heights is seeking an Emergency Room Technical Assistant for the Night shift (Midnights, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, 36 hours). The role supports RNs and Providers with patient care, assessments, and routine ED procedures in a busy, collaborative environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and BCLS certification; prior ED/MA/NA experience is preferred. The department emphasizes teamwork, safety, and patient-centered care as part of its mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BCLS certification required.
• Experience as Emergency Dept Technician, MA, or Nursing Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or Provider.
• Assist RNs and Providers with assessments, examinations and treatments as requested.
• Draw blood and collect specimens; perform EKGs; apply splints or immobilizers; record vital signs.
• Assist with procedures such as suturing, cast applications, and pelvic exams or lumbar punctures as needed.
• Identify life-threatening changes in patient condition and report to RN/Provider.
• Document patient care provided and adhere to safety and standard precautions.
