Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to support the ED team. Responsibilities include decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies, and assisting with basic patient care under RN supervision.

The role requires Current BLS, Medical Terminology, and strong English communication; EMT certification is preferred and 1 year hospital or ambulance experience is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).
• Medical Terminology (required).
• Current EMT Certification (preferred).
• Minimum one (1) year experience in acute hospital setting or in ambulance (preferred).
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (required).
• Additional languages (preferred).
• Basic computer knowledge (required).

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment from the ED.
• Assist with basic patient care under direct supervision of the registered nurse.
• Maintain an environment prepared for patient care; work under pressure and interact professionally with other departments.
• Accept new ideas and learn position duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Our Emergency Room Techs are responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, and equipment dispensed by the emergency department following established Infection Control Practices.
• Assists with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The ED Tech maintains an environment that is prepared for patient care.
• Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital.
• Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.
• Participate in the department’s performance improvement activities related to the Emergency Department.

7:00 a.m.–19:30 p.m. Day Shift, Part-time, Two Shifts Per Week
