Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is seeking Emergency Room Techs to support decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of ED supplies and equipment. You will assist with basic patient care under RN supervision and maintain a care-ready environment in a fast-paced ED.

Roles require English communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The team participates in performance improvement initiatives and supports a growing, modern hospital campus slated for May 2027.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Medical terminology knowledge is required.
• English communication skills are required.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies and equipment per Infection Control Practices.
• Assist with basic patient care under RN supervision; maintain prepared environment for patient care.
• Work under pressure and collaborate professionally with hospital departments.
• Participate in ED performance improvement activities.

We are building a brand new 9 story Hospital scheduled for May 2027 – state of the art and double the size!

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Our Emergency Room Techs are responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies, and equipment dispensed by the emergency department following established Infection Control Practices.
• Assists with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. The ED Tech maintains environment that is prepared for patient care.
• Must be conscientious with regard to procedures, and capable of working under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the hospital.
• Able to accept new ideas and learn position duties.
• Participate in the department’s performance improvement activities related to the Emergency Department.

  • Tuition Reimbursement: Repays up to $600 per calendar year for fees expended to attend a job-related seminar, licensure renewal, workshop, conference, individual course, or other training programs.

  • Tuition Loan: Provides up to $2,000 per calendar year for approved formal certificate or degree programs including prerequisites for approved degree programs. A tuition loan and reimbursement may, with appropriate approvals, be combined for a maximum of $2,600.

  • Critical Pipeline Loan: Tuition loans up to $5,250 for specific degree programs at approved, accredited schools identified by the organization, including BSN, MSN and other Healthcare degrees.

    • Employees may have their loans Forgiven if they continue eligible employment for 12 months after completion of the term for which the loan was given

Hours:11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).
• Medical Terminology (required).
• Current EMT Certification (preferred).
• Minimum one (1) year experience in acute hospital setting or in ambulance (preferred).
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (required).
• Additional languages (preferred).
• Basic computer knowledge (required).
